How to use OPSCOM

Reference for everything OPSCOM does — sign-ups, op planning, going live, loadouts, Discord posting, account linking. Pick the tab for your role.

Getting assigned

When an admin assigns you as GM, you'll get a Discord DM from the OPSCOM bot with a link to the op's edit page. You can GM up to 3 ops at once. Assignment can happen at op-creation time or any time after.

Planning the op

1

Fill in the basics

From the op page, hit Edit. Set the title, log-in / mission start times, duration, minimum players, and the high-level description.

2

Build the briefing

Use the Sections editor to add briefing content — Objectives, Intel, ROE, etc. Each section has a title, body, and optional image. The first section's image becomes the Discord embed preview.

3

Define phases & tasks

Click Phases. Phases run in sequence; each phase has tasks (capture point, base defense, etc.). Mark tasks spoiler if players shouldn't see them until the phase activates. The first phase auto-activates when the op goes live.

4

Optional: capture loadouts

Have an admin or another GM equip a player in-game, then capture the loadout via the squad builder's loadout panel. Tag it with a role name and faction. Linked players can then apply it themselves with one click during the op.

5

Mark ready

When you're done planning, hit Mark Ready. This signals the admin that the op is good to go live.

TipYou can keep editing after Mark Ready — the GM Option B policy lets you edit at any status, including live.

Building squads

Squad Builder is admin-only by default. If an admin has unlocked it for this op (toggle on the op's edit page), GMs of the op see the Squad Builderbutton on the op page during live status. Two views once you're inside:

  • Planned slots — drag confirmed signups into role slots within squads. Pre-assign squad faction, freqs, and a designated leader.
  • Live members — once the op is live, in-game players appear here. Move/promote/unassign them by UID, even if they aren't linked to OPSCOM.
TipHit Publish Squads when you're happy with the layout — this updates the op page so players see their squad assignment, and the Discord embed switches to a per-squad roster view.

During a live op

Live op controls are on the op page and Phases page:

  • Send hint — broadcasts a one-line message to all in-game players.
  • Custom reminder — DMs all confirmed signups with a custom message (e.g. “starting in 10, get on TS”).
  • Lock loadouts — prevents players from changing their loadout after the op starts.
  • Update briefing — pushes a faction-specific briefing message in-game.
  • Complete / fail tasks — manually advance phases when triggers don't auto-fire.

Discord posting

Manual posting and re-posting to Discord is admin-only — public broadcasts with role pings are gated to admins. As a GM you don't need to do anything: when an admin takes the op live, the Discord embed is posted automatically. After that, every change you make (signup updates, squad publishes, op edits) syncs to all posted messages without re-pinging.

Wrapping up

Admins mark the op Completed or Archivedwhen it's done. The Discord embed is updated to a closed state. Stats from the op (signups, role assignments, loadouts captured) feed into player profiles automatically.
